October 24-25, 2011 Crossroads Church This Year's Award Reciepients 38 years in Music Ministry Graduate in Church Music from Golden Served 8 churches in California and Nevada Ray has served the Lord whole-heartedly since the moment he found the Lord at FBC, Reno, where he was working in the local casinos. A member of the Louisiana Hall of Fame (1974), Ray has many musical recordings of his own, and also with the California Singing Churchmen. 2011 Recipient: Walt Crabtree Minister of Music, Sierra Baptist Church,
- Six years full-time Music Minister at 3 - Served as part-time music leader for five years while - A 20 year school teacher - On the Board of Trustees for Cal Baptist University. Walt has been a great example for all minister-musicians. He plans and leads volunteers to use their gifts in the church and leads the congregation to a place of worship each week. Walt serves with distinction in his church and association and is a mentor for excellent leadership. ============================================================
We had a great time at this year's FoCM Conference. There were 60 present for the Monday night worship event and awards presentations. Special thanks to Freddy Wachter and the Crossroads Team, and to Pastor Mike Mau for the inspirational message.
Tuesday morning we we led in worship by Tom Libbey and Luke Gertner. Then we heard from Luke Gertner about Growing Your Musical Team and from Gary McCoy about Using Art in Your Worship.
I truly do appreciate everyone who gave of time and energy to see this event happen and be successful. It truly is an encouragement to local music leaders and Music Ministers each year. Thank you.
