I was able to attend the memorial service hosted by In keeping with Max’s good humor, Craig Singleton, John Shouse, Beth Singleton, Ray Young, and others spoke their fond memories of Max and his antics at the piano, as well as his being a caring friend and co-worker, devoted churchman and wonderful musician. The church will remember Max as long time talented pianist, deacon, servant, and lover of God and Christ. The CSBC remembers Max as all that, plus a constant member of the CA Singing Churchmen and supporter of all things musical in church music throughout the state. In 2007, Dr. Lyall came back to According to Jim Winchester, Dr. Lyall first came to CA in 1974 as accompanist at that year’s annual State Convention meeting in I have included here several links to more information.
